CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE
Welcome to Davenham
Cricket Club. We are a
superb village club
offering both cricket
and social opportunities
to all ages and
abilities. The club is
located a ¼ of a mile
from the centre of
Davenham village, its
home for over a 100
years.
Our 1st XI play currently play in the Meller Braggins League 1 and are 2nd XI in the Meller Braggins League A, both teams playing regular league and cup fixtures throughout the season. We also have both, a Sunday XI and an over 40’s team, the later playing in the Cheshire County League, on Wednesday evenings.
As a Focus Club, we have just achieved Clubmark re-accreditation and are looking forward to being a ‘Chance to Shine’ Club in 2008. With this background we offer excellent coaching and development to all our members, with a particular emphasis on the junior membership. Our successful junior section continues to grow from year to year and during 2007 we fielded teams in five age groups U11’s, U13’s, U15’s U17’s and U21’s. Our commitment to junior cricket will be enhanced further in 2008 with the introduction of two new teams for U9’s and U19’s.
During 2007 the club invested in a new two bay outdoor net facility. Built to International specification and at a cost of 24K, the club are grateful to the ECB, Vale Royal and Lord Taverners for there major contribution to the cost of this project.
On the Social front we have a very active social section, which holds regular functions in our clubhouse, were our bar offers a wide range of liquid refreshments, SKY Sports TV and the obligatory pool table!
Our club always welcomes new members and if you or a family member are interested in joining or learning more about Davenham Cricket Club, please do not hesitate to contact us you will be made very welcome.
